Basic Life Support (BLS) is a critical level of medical care used for individuals experiencing life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or airway obstruction. It includes a set of essential techniques like cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). BLS is designed to maintain circulation and breathing until advanced medical help arrives. Training in BLS equips healthcare providers and lay responders with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize emergencies, provide immediate care, and improve the chances of survival and recovery.
